Making a difference in P1

Two boys were awarded special certificates today from Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity for the funds they raised. The boys decided that instead of receiving gifts for their 6th birthdays, they would instead ask for donations to be given to charity. Thanks to the generosity of their friends, they managed to raise £200! Well done to the boys for their fund raising and for providing a wonderful example of how to make a difference to the lives of others.

Red nose fun!

Lots of fun was had today, dressing up in red for Comic relief! Thank you to all families for their generous donations for this great cause. We’ve given it the thumbs up!

P1 Ceilidh

We enjoyed our ceilidh this morning. All the children enjoyed joining in with the dances they have been learning in PE as part of our Scotland land topic. We had great fun as you can tell by our faces!

Special visitors

P1A and B had some lovely visitors today to help us learn about how to care for a baby. The children asked some thoughtful questions and loved having a peak at the beautiful baby. Her proud big sister was very knowledgeable! A big thank you to the family for coming in!

I’m Stickman, that’s me!

This week P1A and B have enjoyed lots of activities centred around the story ‘Stickman’. They have made Stickman out of plasticine and taken their learning outside to use real sticks to have a Stickman adventure. They have also enjoyed retelling the story using puppets! We have some brilliant story tellers in Primary 1!

Emotion talks

P1A/B were learning about different emotion words yesterday. The children identified different emotions, what makes people feel different emotions and what they look like on our faces and bodies. They then acted out different emotions, can you guess what they are?
